Pilar, cheeky and sensible, completes the Delta Nu girl sister trio, who also form the Greek chorus that performs during the musical. DeQuina Moore was the first to play the role on Broadway before Asmeret Ghebremichael took the role. In the UK, Pilar was played by Ibinabo Jack and Micha Richardson. During its broadcast in San Francisco, the musical featured a song called “Love and War,” but when it aired on Broadway, the song was replaced by what is now “Positive.”  Another predecessor of “Positive” was “Beacon of Positivity”. During the development phase of the musical, a demo with twelve songs featuring Kerry Butler and others like Elle was released. The demo included workbench versions of “There! Right there! ” (called on the sampler “Gay or European”), “Blood in the Water”, “Omigod You Guys”, “Serious”, “What You Want”, “Legally Blonde”, “Legally Blonde Remix”, “So Much Better” and “Take It Like a Man”, in addition to two songs that were not present in the final version of the show: “Beacon of Positivity” (which became “Love and War” for the previews and finally “Positive” for the final version of the show) and “Good Boy”, a song instead of “Ireland”.  With the popularity of the television musical, a reality show called Legally Blonde – The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods aired on MTV. The goal was to choose the next actress to play Elle Woods on Broadway. Serena is an energetic cheerleader who is a member of sister house Delta Nu. With Margot and Pilar, she is part of the Greek choir that accompanies Elle`s journey through musicals. The role was played by Leslie Kritzer, Susan McFadden and Rachel Grundy.
The musical was filmed on September 18, 2007 in front of a live audience for television, as well as on two other dates when it was filmed without an audience. All three edited performances aired on MTV on October 13 and 14, 2007, with additional airing dates on November 3 and 14, 2007. MTV`s involvement in the musical continued with a reality show called Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods, which aimed to hire the next actress to play Elle Woods on Broadway. to replace Laura Bell Bundy. The show was hosted by Haylie Duff and premiered on MTV on June 2, 2008. The show ran for eight episodes. The focus was on the preparation and coaching of the participants, as well as on the auditions themselves. The competition was won by Bailey Hanks, 20, of Anderson, South Carolina. The results premiered on MTV on July 21, 2008, and Hanks` debut as Elle Woods took place on July 23. The finalist, Autumn Hurlbert, also made her Broadway debut in this show as sister of the sorority in Delta Nu and served as an understudy to Hanks.  In the film Legally Blonde, Elle Woods is a sister who lives in the Delta Nu House of the fictional California University Los Angeles (CULA) (UCLA in the musical), where she studies fashion merchandising and maintains a 4.0 GPA. Woods` boyfriend, Warner Huntington III, son of a U.S. Congressman, breaks up with her the night she expects him to propose to her, saying he must “marry a Jackie, not Marilyn.” Warner was destined for Harvard Law School, and Woods was determined to be admitted to the school to win him back. Upon arriving at Harvard, Woods learns that Warner has a new fiancée, Vivian Kensington, who is a member of the same country club as Warner`s family.
Woods is able to exonerate a sister accused of murder and decides she doesn`t need Warner. At the end of the film, Woods delivers the opening address to the law school class after proving himself, earning the respect of his peers, and beginning a relationship with Emmett Richmond.
